Madhurashatkam

Vallabhacharya, the founder of the Pushti Marg was a poet, scholar and passionate lover of Lord Krishna.

Madhurashtakam is one of his immortal compositions, all the more popular because of its simplicity. These set of eight verses talk of Shri Krishna’s bewitching personality. His pastimes and His pranks all of which make Him loving and lovable.

Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda expounds on this composition gives us a sense of immediacy with highlights of episodes from the lives of recent saints.

It also makes us introspect on our hypocrisies which prevent us from flowering with sweetness. But above all, it opens our eyes to the healing energies of the Divine, clothed in a name and form.

Mahabharata

The Mahabharata is perhaps the greatest epic poem ever written. Stretching to more than 100,000 verses, it is one of the greatest jewels of Indian literature encompassing all aspects of the human condition. From devotion to spirituality; good to evil; ultimate loyalty to deceit and treachery; love and joy to death and grief; creation of wonders to wanton destruction; the multi-faceted story has it all.

However, it presents the quintessence of our entire teaching of Upanishads. It analyses the entire range of human consciousness in the three states of waking (jagrata), dream (svapna), and dreamless sleep (sushupti), which are common to all human beings. It asserts unequivocally that the Absolute Reality is non-dual (advaita) and attributeless (nirguna). It provides a unique sadhana through the use of the symbol AUM to reach Oneself.
