Bhagavan Shankaracharya was a consumate spiritual genius, poet, thinker, writer, crusader, advaitin and bhakta all rolled into one.
In this Hymn, Forgive me, the seeker is on the wholesale confessional mode – sincerely remorseful for relegating the Lord to an insignificant position in his life.
The greatest spiritual sin is amnesia of the One responsible for our very existence. Swami Chinmayananda’s vivid and lucid explanation makes this deceptively short text a cathartic release for any devotee. Just fourteen verses – but they lead up the devotee to a hysteric release and resurrection! Experience it for yourself!

Amidst the glorious setting and background of the Himalayas and Pujya Gurudev’s Samadhi Sthal of Sidhbhari, Pujya Swami Swaroopananda gave us a rare treat of a marathon talk on the entire Shrimad Bhagavad Geeta in October 2015.
Testimony of one of the camp attendees in the form of a poem:
Some of us had a rare opportunity to listen to the entire Geeta during the Marathon camps at Sidhbari. Besides learning in depth the complete Geeta at a stretch which sometime may take years or even a lifetime, it also turned out to be a life transforming event and the most memorable moments of our life.
As we traversed through the battlefield of Kurukshetra with him, we gained insight into Arjuna’s dejection and the ‘Krishna cure’ that the Lord kindly prescribes.
It became uncanny that,
the battlefield was within us,
the opposing forces being the noble intentions seemingly few in number,
against the mighty façade of negative and defeating notions in our bosoms,
and there stands every Arjuna,
in no man’s land,
desperately seeking victory and yet
overwhelmed by the sheer scale of fears and doubts within,
kneeling in surrender to The Supreme for guidance,
and is lifted beyond doubt through His grace,
To fight and live gloriously,
To emerge victorious,
In this sea of time and space,
unbuoyed by the ups and downs,
clinging to the very heart of the ocean,
the eye of the storm- The Lord seen without,
To break free into the beyond,
He becomes the Lord within

Mind alone is the cause of bondage and mind alone is the cause of liberation. Mind under our mastery is our best friend and the mind that controls us is our deadliest enemy. One who masters his mind, masters the entire Universe.

On the surface, an enchanted life would seem the ideal existence – a life free from worries, wants, insecurities, in capacities and so forth. Indeed, that is the sum total of all product advertisements, recreational pursuits, even business goals and social norms, put together. And yet nothing could be more elusive.
The fundamental truth of life – and all of us are aware of it, though we conveniently keep forgetting it – is that for as long as we’re breathing, there can be no escaping all the negative, nay, challenging situations that owe to our destiny. But how we respond to them is the key that sets apart success from stagnation, joy from dejection, fulfillment from frustration.
Artful management of life’s vicissitudes is therefore the antidote to wishful thinking, and such treatment requires first and foremost a willful change of mindset: a shift in focus from results to process, from destination to journey…because, quite simply, the ‘stuff’ of life is always in the here and now. In this series, Swami Swaroopananda, shares many insightful tips and techniques to enable exactly such a transition.

To the ‘genuine’ meditator, the Uanishads are a mine of inspiration, for in them occur esoteric truths, veritable jewels of the spiritual realm that shine a special light on his quest for fulfilment.
